The Importance of Workplace Communication for Successful Human Resource Practice
Without a doubt, success is the ultimate goal for all businesses. However, achieving success can be difficult if the organization is confronted with certain obstacles. Poor communication is frequently found to be at the root of organizational problems.
It's also not easy to comprehend workplace communication. It can be either beneficial or harmful. Any organization can benefit from the use of the appropriate communication techniques.
At an individual level, good communication skills are also required. As a result, they have now become a requirement for employment in almost every organization!

What is Workplace Communication?
In a nutshell, workplace communication is the exchange of information within an organization between individuals or groups. It isn't necessary for it to be expressed verbally. Nonverbal communication can take the form of voicemails, emails, or texts, among other things.
An organization is made up of individuals who are all distinct from one another. Effective workplace communication, in fact, is what brings all employees together and helps them achieve their objectives. As a result, the organization as a whole benefits.
Workplace communication is unavoidable for a well-functioning organization. It's critical to identify the barriers to workplace communication because only the problems that are identified can be solved! Even though the organization's HR department is responsible for resolving issues, the process of achieving effective communication takes place on a very personal level.
The ability to communicate is an essential life skill and one that can only be continually developed (Paul and Helen, 2013). It is a general belief that no group can exist without communication. Only communication can successfully aid the completion of any task or business transaction that requires more than one person. The process of communication therefore involves imparting or exchanging of information by speaking, writing, or using some other medium (CIPM, 2007).
Workplace communication is as important as breathing in an organization.
1) Increased Productivity:
Goals become clearer and employees can better understand their tasks when there is effective workplace communication. Effective communication with employees can provide proper guidance and a wealth of information.
It's also easier to provide feedback. Regular feedback can actually boost employee morale. Employees feel respected and better understand their responsibilities as a result of this developed relationship based on communication. As a result, a great deal of stress is reduced. As a result, there is more room for improvement in their overall performance.
Employees are more likely to perform better if they know what the company expects of them. As a result, the entire organization will become productive!
2) Increase the Trust of the Employees Towards the Company:
Honest two-way communication can help establish sacred trust and ensure transparency between the employer and the employee.
Employee perspectives can be understood by listening to them through effective workplace communication. Employees want to know if they can count on the company in difficult times. Furthermore, effective communication makes the organization's top levels more accessible and trustworthy to approach for such purposes.
It's also crucial to keep the hard-won trust. To seal the trusting bond, the organization must demonstrate trust toward the employees.
3) Increase Employee Engagement:
Employee engagement serves as a link between organizational needs and employees' efforts to meet them.
Effective communication can assist them in emotionally connecting with their workplace. This will enable them to make a genuine contribution to the organization.
In order for employees to grow, they require a thriving environment. Furthermore, when coworkers are relatable and supportive of one another, the quality of work improves.
Employees benefit from workplace communication because it fosters a positive working environment.
As a result, they will be more engaged in the tasks and responsibilities that are expected of them.
4) Ensure a Stress-Free Working Environment:
A stressful working environment can be caused by a variety of factors. All of these factors, however, can be easily overcome through effective communication.
Stress can be caused by a variety of factors, ranging from a lack of appreciation to a lack of job security. Another factor that causes stress in employees is an excessive workload. When workplace communication is maintained, the work environment becomes positive and productive rather than toxic.

5) Increase Job Satisfaction:
Employees are frequently rewarded for their efforts through workplace communication. It even ensures that their personal development is taken into account.
Employees who are happy and satisfied with their jobs are said to be satisfied. Employees' levels of satisfaction with the organization can be inquired about through communication.
Employees are more likely to leave if they are dissatisfied with their work. So, through workplace communication, necessary changes can be made to avoid this.
Appreciation, which has the power to elevate communication, is often required for job satisfaction. As a result, it is an essential component of communication.
6) Give Birth to New Ideas and Innovations:
7) Help Build a Great Team:
For an organization to perform at its best, it must have employee trust and cooperation.
Certain projects in an organization necessitate collaboration with others on the team. As a result, in order to achieve maximum efficiency, all team members must get along.
Constructive criticism can be shared when there is good workplace communication. Employees can collaborate to come up with new ideas and implement them.
HR meetings, performance evaluations, employee issues, and other forms of communication are all examples of this type of communication.
Assumptions merely add to the muddle. As a result, it's critical to make everyone on the team feel at ease. It's a wonderful way to maintain a peaceful and harmonious work environment.
8) Meet Organizational Objectives:
Setting goals and objectives is a step that can be wasted if the organization doesn't communicate effectively.
This is because the organization's survival is entirely dependent on the achievement of its goals and objectives. Setting goals may appear to be a difficult task. However, this can only be accomplished if employees have a clear understanding of what needs to be done and how best to do it. The smooth implementation of this agenda is ensured by clear communication.
9) Keep Organizational Conflicts at Bay:
Communication is the only way to understand the source of the conflict. However, it must be effective.
Employees' emotions will be better understood through workplace communication, as will the reason for the conflict. Individual differences can be recognized and respected through communication. While resolving the issues, the perspectives of all parties involved in the conflict can be considered.
The best part about having open communication in a company is that problems can be discussed and resolved right away.
10) Ensure Company’s Commitment Towards the Employees:
It is critical for the organization's success to have open and honest two-way communication with its employees.
Without its employees, an organization would be nothing. It is critical to gain the employees' trust. As a result, an organization should make certain that all of its employees' concerns are addressed.
Employees will be more loyal and engaged in their work if they believe their employer cares about them.
Open communication is the only way to build such trust!
Clear goals, effective strategies, and other factors all contribute to an organization's success. All of those factors, however, are irrelevant if they aren't properly implemented. Workplace communication serves as a foundation for these factors to function.
Without effective workplace communication, the organization will not be able to function properly. Effective workplace communication ensures that all levels of the organization function properly and complete their responsibilities in order to achieve the organization's ultimate goal of success.
It's not easy to accomplish all of this. If properly implemented, workplace communication can help any organization achieve its objectives.
